I'm wanting to buy a pair of these but nowhere has them in stock locally so it'll have to be mail order.
How do they size up? I'm a 32-33 waist.
Some Gore stuff sizes really big and some really small so I'm in a quandry.
I would say you'll want a medium. I'm a 30" waist and bought a small, thought they were a bit tight the first couple of times I wore them...They're now the best fitting, most comfortable shorts I've ever had. So much so I've bought a second pair for multiday trips!
Just realised are you on about the bibs or the waterproof shorts?
If it is the bibs, order them from wiggle. If they don't fit they're now doing free returns.
Thanks
It's the waterproof shorts I'm getting.
Ha, I was on about the bibs but you'll want a medium with the waterproofs too. I've the 3/4 one's and have to use braces to keep them up with my snake hips! ๐
i am 32 / 33 and medium fits fine - fairly 'fitted' look and feel which i like. They do strike me as fragile, however if you prefer a baggier, more robust, but still goretex / overtrouser type waterproof short, then evans have some Scott shorts in the sale - the Gore ones are very expensive!
Scott do some nice goretex shorts. Very similar to the gore ones but cheaper. Small sized like the gore ones.
Small for me 30 inch waist...they are a snug fit on the thighs definitely! They are very fragile as said, i have a rip in mine about five inches long on the rear end......not from a crash etc.....but from my nose on my seat...that's how fragile they are....I've bought an official iron on patch for the rip that I'm told will work from gorebikewear but I've yet to apply it yet
Mine lasted about 3 winters then just fell apart, wore through on the inside of the thigh. Very good, but I'm not convinced the breathability is much of an issue on shorts, not sure I'd bother with Goretex ones again.
Medium for me (30 waist), small was too tight on my thighs.
Thanks - I'll check out the Scott ones. That sounds a bit too fragile for me as I tend to crash often enough that they'd get trashed.
