So my Altura pocket rocket is starting to de laminate , brought it in sale for 40 quid a couple of years back. Its not a bad jacket and packs really small so can take it on almost every ride. Still gets wet on the inside from sweating , not sure if throwing a bit more money at it would sort the problem out.
So whats good now at the lower end of the market( dont want to spend too much on something that I could trash very easily)

TBH all cheaper ones will get a little sweaty IME. I use a gore paclite, works a treat, but anythning up in the £80-100 should breath a little better.

Have a look at the Endura range, decent kit and great backup.

I had the same problem, check my thread out. http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/what-waterproof-jacket-3

In the end I went for a DHB signal jacket - excellent reviews, practical and cheap.
