@forex - you are to be commended for getting out and riding it was a bad choice of route for the conditions though. You did provide maximum amusement with your video commentary. However, you should be aware that riding around the more difficult features and creating more damage to the area isn't going to win you any friends here. My riding isn't up to much but then I am not videoing myself and posting it up on the internet, if you do that you are going to attract comments, good and bad.

No it wasn't. Muddy and wet is when it's most fun. Fair play to the video poster riding in that and he does ride some things pretty well - although he definitely needs a bit of coaching as do I (out of practice) - some better brakes, some Magic Marys/HR'2s instead of those crappy trail tyres that I think he had and taller bars might help as well. Were you using organic pads mate?

His commentary is unintentionally ****ing hilarious though as were some of his replies replies on here, if he had any sense he would capitalise on this and become the "Idiot Abroad" of the MTB world.

This man has the makings of a classic troll/mtb comedian.

Have a good Christmas.

Have a look at a ride with any of Cavedale / Beast (Hope Cross/Hagg Farm) / Jacobs Ladder descents. If nothing else you may redefine "gnarly", its good to move the benchmark from time to time.

Oh yeah. Before I depart I would just like to point out the the new gopro hero 4 has twice the dynamic range for the microphone.

I really don't think the audio engineers at gopro got electrical engineering degrees to to have their videos pick on the subtle differences in wind noise as you go darn a gnarly gnarly ganarly track.

Apparently its got twice the dynamic range. So you can kiss my hairy ballsack.

I hear they are recruiting for i'm a celebrity get me out of here. Some posters on here would be advised to go to screening. The only requirement being you enjoy stuffing animal testicles into your mouth.

Thanks for the support be it positive or negative. Now go out and ride.

Does that mean Cavedale etc IS gnarly? I wasn't sure which way you meant it?

@poison - I would say its more technicaly sustained descent than Cut Gate.

Thanks Jambalaya, I am familiar with them, I just wanted to know if they are generally considered 'gnarly'

WARNING: MAJOR WILLY WAIVING COMING UP!!

In fact I got a Strava top 8 and top 6 for the top and bottom bits of the Jacobs decent the last time I rode it.

PUTS WILLY AWAY.

@Hora

Well it can put an end to a willy-off one way or the other.

Although going on about how you smashed a Strava segment is a bit naff to be honest.

And, no the irony is definitely not lost on me ๐Ÿ™‚

Am I missing Strava?

If helps you need at least four specific Strava bikes to cover the basic segment types.

It's defo a case of quantity over quality.

There's a rather disturbing diversion about sex noises in the middle somewhere. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

9/10 thread would read again.

@forexpipz can we have the link to the other videos?

Gnarly Gnarly video is definitely up there in my all time top youtube watches in 2014. "time to shrrrrrrrrrrrrrred" and "booya, booya baby" i'm going to use those on my next outing! ๐Ÿ™‚

I couldn't care less what route you took, looked a fun ride, pure escapism!

Please post more videos, the commentary really makes it ๐Ÿ˜†

Much rather watch this, than a silent video with the same riding.

Is that because most people aren't stupid enough to post Strava times on footpaths?

I can't find Parkin Clough on Strava!

Parkin Top is, but that's a bridleway.

I do know the trail afterall. Much respect if you've cleaned all that top to bottom.

The tree route section is defo gnarly gnarly.

Ever since watching the video in the OP a couple of days ago I've been walking round describing everything as 'Gnarly, gnarly, gnaaaaaarrllllyyy' ๐Ÿ˜†

Although I'm dreading my video footage from Revo on Saturday now I've got that phrase in my head. Usually I just hear the occasional curse or 'Oof' when I watch it back.

It's that kind of sexual repression that's brought this country to it's knees

That was funny. Almost got as many views as my unintentional suicide attempt last summer (in which I looked far worse at riding a bike)...

I'm, like, turtley amped on this thread !

@yunki, riding a gnarly, gnarly trail is in many ways very much like making love to a beautiful woman. (with increasing volume) "****, ****, ****, ****, fu**ity-fuuuuu**" ...then, softly... "oooh yeah, booyah baby" in all cases for me

(edit, soz mods but it was verbatim what I really say, honest - none of that tax filter evasion)
