Jam bo- that was taken 4months after I was put IN hospital with a broken arm/shoulder and concussion. How does that make you feel posting that?

Poisonspider it wasn't posted/ topic wasn't started by the person who created the vid though (and then uploaded it to a public media). So your point isn't valid. Someone posts a vid and it features something that irks you then you are surely on topic?

I used to enjoy riding far more when I was more crap and less people rode.

Now there's too much pressure and willy waving if you want to ride with other people.

You ride to enjoy your ride. When you start recording it and upload it to a public media for other blokes to see then you've got to expect blokes to be blokes. Ever been out in a pub and ripped into or been ripped into for laughs? Its normal. I've had fantastic rides and I've also had average rides, anything you photo just looks flatter and not steep at all to those who weren't there (man) anyway.

In general - I always say I aint going to pay your mortgage and vice versa so ride it or don't/its your call ๐Ÿ™‚

I bet the guy in the video was riding a bike that fitted him, one he is happy with, one that doesn't provide him with excuses.......

I'll re-iterate what I have already said.

I came from an on-one limited edition single speed bike in 29" format onto an spec enduro comp evo 29er.

Imagine my excitement when I got bouncy bits fore and aft plus gears.

I hadn't been this excited since the 800mm bar and Brooks saddle worked alongside one another.

So yeah. In my extremely limited understanding of 'gnarly' it was to me.

I have been riding rigid with one gear and flat pedals for ages now so the change was immense.

Go ape shit on the negative comments if you like because I will still wake up every single day, have a black coffee and live and breath bike related design. Plus the occasional 'gnarly' wet riding.

If you don't get passionate about something then don't do it. The equations are not difficult. Passion = happiness. Its that simple.

In the future if you wanna insult somebody then your method of delivery and timing have to be - lets say ... more tactful.

I'm happy because many people on this forum felt the need and got quite vocal in my defence so for that a big thanks. To the haters. Have a nice day.

You do realise that my post above was in good nature right? Right or wrong I do that whenever I see any 29'er rider and I'll always make a good natured comment to a fatbiker or a gaggle of Orange bike riders. Its good fun and I'd take it back (especially as I went on to own a said-Orange bike). One day I may even own a 29'er.. I'm already on the route to a 650b.

Ok. So the video I didn't post on here and I didn't ask people to watch has 4000 views.

How many views do you need to buy a chip butty?

This thread made me think if I have gone mental and shouted out. The only incident I can remember is the first time I straight lined the steep 'paved' bit of jacobs ladder instead of going down the s shaped switch back. Some of you must have to had outbursts at some point.

Is it me, or does anyone else think that he doesn't really mean that?

And there lies the problem. Not one **** was given.

I have a 14 year old daughter. She's at that age where she is self conscious.

Always worried about what people think about her. Not too dissimilar to members on this forum I guess.

Go out. Scream cry and grunt. But for gods sake don't be a hating whining ****... ๐Ÿ˜€

That looks like a fun little bit of trail ๐Ÿ™‚

Can we just do a quick straw poll..?
For anyone that has passed judgement, positive or negative, regarding the OPs commentary in the vid..

Are you vocal when you are making sweet, sweet passionate love..?

I myself am a silent lover and also a silent rider.. Is there any correlation to be found here..?

I'm silent (with an intense stare) until the moment of completion, at which point I'm afflicted with uncontrollable laughter.

If it's 'Gnarly' I'm guessing she probably doesn't like it either.

Just wondering how you cleaned prospetic skin after the duration of events. Gt-85 is leaving an unpleasant odour.

My wife is really forgiving. She never speaks and she always has that fresh out of the box smell.

She's very quiet. Almost inaudible except for the higher frequencies. Apparently its due to the pressurization of air or something.

FWIW, I went through a stage of humming the A-Team theme tune out loud whilst riding fun bits. Makes you 10x faster.

Sorry, are we back to riding riding now or still answering Yunki's question?

For me, when bike riding, i like to imagine Blur's Song 2 coming on just as I start onto any fast bit. The big problem is that i'm so shit at riding fast bits, that by the time the 'WOOHOO!' comes in I'm usually lying in a bush and swearing, which spoils the effect.

I find myself singing 'Horsey horsey don't you stop...' etc to myself on long grinding MTB climbs. The joys of parenthood - nursery rhymes etched into your brain.

Weirdly that's my answer to Yunki's loving noise question too.
