Isn't it at this point where we all get together and start a crowd-funding page to buy Moley a spoon, erm, e-bike? Then we say stuff like, 'it's at times like this that you realise what a great place this is'? 😉

Yeah, fair point, BUT the reason I ask weird stuff is that the obvious stuff is obvious and doesn’t need asking.

You don't ask weird stuff thought, you just ask stuff that's been answered a thousand times but reject it as it's not the answer you want.
Kind of pointless even asking.
BWD sums it up pretty well.

No, I ask if there's a way to do something differently, I'm quite aware of the thousands of other answers but they aren't what I want which is why I ask in the first place. But I've given up now since you lot totally miss the point usually.

But this wasn't one of those threads. Or maybe it is cos many of you missed the point, see this page for examples 🙂

I’d rather ride my slacked out 150mm hardtail down those trails than your shorter steeper Patriot! Especially as part of an XC loop. If you’re not racing and thus chasing seconds then you’d be amazed how much fun a good modern hardtail can be on trails you could also enjoy on a DH bike.

Then ignore all the answers that are almost identical.
Are you related to TJ
And no that's not a question...

Haha! This a good'un. That new nukeproof reactor seems to advertise it can do what you want. A 0% credit card (are you sensible with money) will do the rest. You'll also easily sell your 26 tat, I did on pink bike and I wasn't posting.

Are you related to TJ lmao! Give him a break.

I've got a Giant Trance (140mm) with a 160mm fork with lockout and a super-deluxe that locks out. Lightish wheels, eagle drivetrain, 66.5 degree head angle. It's awesome uphill and down and would do what you want. I'm selling frame though as I just bought an Aeris AM which will be even awesomer (I also have an XC bike).

“I’ve never tried a long travel hardtail.”

You’re missing out, the good ones are great (until you huck to flat and bottom out your ankles...)
