Hi Chaps,

Has anyone got a Gloworm X1 and changed the optics? The manual talks about a tool, but I've not got what looks to be a splined rounded tool to remove the bezel.

Cheers

Ricks

Yep 🙂 It arrived today.

Looks dinky, very powerful throw on the beam. I wanted something for hill walking at night, so the X1 with a head strap works better than my Joystick - so sold that and bought this.

The battery is very nice and slim, and a nice texture.

Spare o-rings and screw, and a nice little case for it too.

For £100 it's pretty nice.

Hi rickon

The tool is a flat metal tool - there is a pic here -

The 25.8mm blade on the tool slots into the cut outs in the bezel. The bezel should not be in tightly - it only needs to be tight enough to compress the o-ring.

The other cut out on the tool makes it a handy Gloworm branded bottle opener.

It comes with the standard spot optic fitted, the Superspot is the one with a dimpled centre - I tried that last night and it was amazing. A slightly less clean beam but and even hotter hotspot and more throw!

Great 🙂

I do have the tool, I just assumed it would be a little splined tool like a cassette lockring tool.

Bottle opener will come in very handy next month, after the Dryathalon has finished 😉
