[#4709724]

Bit of a conundrum.
Set my Avid BB7s up to run perfectly with no rotor rub, but whenever I remove the front wheel and replace it the rotor ends up rubbing on the pads. Re-adjust the pads so all is fine, then if I have to remove the wheel again later the rotor rubs again. Just cannot figure out what is wrong.
The front hub is a Cannondale own brand, with no play in the bearings.
Any ideas?

Maybe different levels of tightness when you re install the wheel?

when you come to tighten the qr lean over the bars to do it, pushing down a bit. the axle will be pushed all the way in to the dropouts and assuming there's no significant wear on the surface of the dropouts causing the qr to 'self centre' that should put the wheel in the same place every time.

I thought that, but it happens no matter how tight/loose the skewer is. It occurs on the origional alloy forks and new carbon ones.
The forks are solid, the brake/rotor bolts are tight, the hub axle is free of play... what else can possibly cause it

Probably a slightly bent axle.
