Gloves - for Male Hands?

Bit of a rant......

A few years ago i would order mtb gloves in medium and large and send the one that didn't fit back. Now I consistently find that every glove I order is too tight across the knuckles and too tight down the fingers. The larger size is the same, just longer fingers. I don't have big hands and my fingers are pretty skinny for a man. It seems like every glove is made to fit the same dainty feminine hand. Am I the only one finding this??!

You are certainly not! Almost every thread about gloves contains a moan from me about sizing. I do have big hands but not quite JCB shovels yet most gloves even XXL size aren't big enough.

I use lidl and aldi workies gloves.  They come in huge sizes and have palm padding.

I find most gloves too short in the thumb  ( as the bit between your thumb and the rest of the hand  gets very comprerssed )but these are fine

Another fan of Aldi cycling gloves here. They fit my gibbon-esque hands and big sausage-fingers perfectly

Also Troy Lee gloves

I’ve got small hands & find I have the same problem; if the fingers fit properly the palm is so tight that it deforms both the glove & my hand. The bigger sizers then have 30% extra material on the finger ends, & still weirdly tight across the palm..

Even more frustrating is a medium in one manufacturer can be wildly different to another, & even manufacturers are inconsistent through their range. For example, I have some Rab Guide gloves in a small, which fit perfectly yet the Rab Kroma gloves I’ve got a medium with them being slightly too small. The large in that model are virtually the same fit with a weirdly long middle finger…

Is part of it a fit preference? My idea of a glove that fits how I want is that it’s tight, especially when brand new and it hasn’t stretched to my hands. I don’t have small hands but have often bought size small gloves in the past. Nowadays I’m finding that 100% gloves in a medium are tight like I want without my fingertips bursting through the ends.

This.
I have fairly big hands, size 11 iirc, not ginormous.
It’s usually the thumb that causes the problem, some alleged XXL gloves I couldn’t get the Velcro done up on the cuff, if I manage to get them on without ripping them.
