Currently sat in a pub garden at the bottom of Holford Combe in the Quantocks.
17 miles into a brilliant ride.....I'd forgotten how bloody good the Quantocks are. There really is a bit of everything.
Did some Triscombe trails, then Frog/Holford Combe. Back up and then down Hodders Combe.
Pint of Otter Ale is going down a treat, and then back up the hill for a bit more singletrack.
As I said. Glorious 😎
Oar some.
Did 25miles of Ridgeway yesterday and doing similar today. Just left the Bell at Aldworth.
Yes we did a Polaris in the Quantocks, must have been around 1995 I guess, I do remember liking the area even though it had some steep hills.
Enjoy your afternoon. Highlight for me will be if the ice cream van turns up at work...
To rub it in, I should be at work. But I'm doing work experience visits this week, and both my Friday afternoon visits got cancelled (kids had decided not to turn up today!)
So I went for a ride instead. Cheers lazy kids!
give slaughterhouse a go. i rode it last time I was there and forgetten how good it is.
I rode slaughterhouse today, forgot how vague the trail is that leads into it.
That wasn't you with the red bumbag riding past me loading my bike into my car at CPG was it?
A picture would be nice.

Yep, that was me 👍
Only photo I took today, my pint and bike down at Holford....

Bell at Aldworth
I've done a few Ridgeway bimbles after work this week, and dragged the wife up the Bell tonight. Always a lovely pub on a sunny evening (well, always a lovely pub full stop I guess)
I grew up in the Vale of the White Horse, so did most of my formative MTBing on and around the Ridgeway.
Glorious in summer (but a pig in winter!)
The woods in Slaughterhouse Combe are somehow greener than everywhere else... it’s certainly special
Ooh, I stayed in that cottage ( Little Mayfield ) a couple of years ago!
Brilliant week exploring the lovely Quantocks!
