Hi all,

This probably seems like a daft question given the weather we’ve just had. Heading to Glentress on Friday for the weekend and wondering what it’s like up there at the minute. Forecasts only say so much, and it looks like the temps wouldn’t see a quick thaw.

Be nice to hear from a few locals what it’s like up there. Cheers

Colin

Yair is just down the road. The SUW was pretty much unridable yesterday, up anyway, down not so bad but it is melting very rapidly. Slushy and unpleasant but doable would be my guess by Friday, although GT does drain pretty well

Given its supposed to snow Tue, Thu, Sat, and Sun, I really can't imagine Glentress being fun or rideable?

It's wet, serious wet in peebles. I've lost knee deep snow in 24hours.

My prediction would be grim but I've not been up.

Enjoy!

Cheers all. Good news joshvegas, well as in its thawing. I’ll be packing the waterproofs!

Well, an interesting weekend. As I was meeting friends from home coming across from Belfast, we met at Dalbeattie for the Friday ride. Not a drop of snow on the trails and actually a really nice place to ride. Has a nice natural feeling to it. Saturday we made an attempt to ride at Glentress. Couldn't believe how much snow was still about. We made it to Buzzards and up to berm baby berm, but it was crazy. Rode some of the lower blues and called it a day early. Decided that even with heavy rain, it wasn't going to improve for the Sunday so we rode Mabie instead. Great conditions and good fun.

I honestly can't see the higher trails at GT and Inners being clear next weekend or even the following weekend.

It's the Vallelujah race the following weekend. The snow should make it fun😎
