The Forestry Commision website shows Gisburn black as being closed due to 'harvesting'. Is this right or is the website a bit behind the times?

If it is shut, when is it liekly to reopen?

Anyone in the know.

The only bit that was shut was the Gully which whilst a really good descent is only a very small bit of the route (diversion is in place). The rest is fully open and dry. Martin, the head forrester was hoping to finish repairs this week and get it open for the weekend so you may be lucky. I emailed him last night but I haven't had a reply yet.

There is no black route as such at Gisburn, the black bits are really just optional extras off the red route. Certainly still worth riding the rest even if the Gully is closed (IMHO).

Sounds like standard wording to be honest. I can assure the rest is open. I was there last Sunday building new trail with the man in charge ๐Ÿ˜‰

There last sunday, just the gully closed. Rest of trails bone dry, great to come back covered in dust for a change. Hats off to the trail builders, great day out.

There's also a Facebook group which is updated a lot which might help with keeping up to date on what's open and what's shut.

Just got back, the route up welpstone crag is knackered but you can still ride it. Hully gully is open but very loose and they have put a sneaky rock garden in there ๐Ÿ˜‰

That's the bit that took so long to finish ๐Ÿ™„

Ironically could've done with some good sustained rain to bed it all in. Oh well there's always the summer.

Sorry, forgot to put in the ironic smilie. I'm hoping the summer brings the rain to bed it in properly, I'll get my coat.
