Hey ya.,

Our small riding group is about to get smaller as our Italian stallion Mario is emigrating from Glasgow to NZ(very jealous as well).

Known him for a few years and although we don't really get together outside of biking, he's always been great company, we've had some fantastic riding and one of the few who's always up for bikes and not excuses. I'm genuinely sad that he's leaving.

Our final ride is next sunday at Glentress where he is hiring a bike as his new bike went straight in the container bound for new Zealand, we won't even get to see it.

So, any ideas for gifts for him to remember us by? Maybe something coordinated with his new bike?

Assuming he has everything he needs, then this…

When I left somewhere for pastures new (left Glasgow, funnily enough), one of my riding buddies got me some custom printed drinks coasters. They had map sections of some of our memorable rides on them.

So he gets to move to New Zealand, he gets a new bike, and you want to get him ANOTHER present?

Jokes aside, maybe one of these to remember you by? (you could all sign it on the white border inside the frame too)

A new set of tyres for after the customs inspection 😉

Framed picture of you all at the top of a hill.

Last year a Brazilian friend moved to Spain and gave our biking group a custom card with photos of us on various spins and some kind words. It was very thoughtful and I've held onto it.

I would say some kind of photo/pic of you all. Even if it's not all of you together at the same time.

That and something amusing like that Glentress t-shirt.
Or perhaps a pint glass? I got a Syncros pint glass (although I think it's a US pint) from a mate & I think of him every time I use it. Must be 13 years or so old now.

In five years he'll be old enough to have a pint with you 🙂

A mate got us (well, me) a Park tools toilet roll holder as a wedding present. 16 years later it must be the only pressie we got still in use

Id make up a pic collage of all of you from riding pics etc...

Its something he can hang up in his new home to remind himself of all of you and try to find some similar buddies in NZ

Isn't it 8 years for a US pint?

True, and those US pints are 20% smaller than the UK ones too
