I think Giant only distribute through independent bike dealers, not large chains, but then again, I have seen Giants in the usual back-of-the-mags ads. Perhaps that's why you haven't seen many around your neck of the woods? If your lbs doesn't stock em, you won't see em.

I bought an 08 Trance frame 7 months ago for £600, stuck my existing bits on it, bought some 120mm Recons for £150 and imo, I have one of the best XC/trail bikes around - all for £750. Makes me smile when my obsessive mates spend £4,000-a-piece on new bikes and mine still looks and rides as good.

Yup everyone I know back in Cardiff has at least 1 Giant ... as mentioned about independant bike shops deal them, Giant put money into the small bike shops, helps them re-invent themselves, decorate etc.

I love my Giant Reign 2, 2 years in Morzine ride it all the time. Friends have got Glorys, Faiths, Trance, Anthems.... that's what we all ride in Cardiff so come along and you'll see millions at once 😆

I love my Reign X, got the frame (07) for £300 about a month ago and it is ridiculous fun, pedal efficient, the back end's real snappy, far better than a mate's pitch and other sussers i've had a go on like Commie's etc. And yes £300 is a bargain! I snapped it up straight away, he listed tuesday I collected saturday, collection is the way to get any seller to hold an iterm for you 😉

I can think of 6 off hand in our club. They're not my kind of bike (I probably wouldn't buy one) but don't see anything wrong with them!

I concur! Bought mine as a whole bike for a bargain too. Any excuse to post a pic though 😉

Love Giant bikes, ever since racing one in my Teens back in the nineties. I've had a few different brands since, but it's hard to beat the quality vs value from the brand.

Now have an Anthem (bought from Classifieds) and an XTC singlespeed. Top bikes.

Ok, we've had the svelte skinny lightweight stuff, now for something a bit, okay, a lot heavier!

Frame, not bike, stripped of paint, and no shock, but i got a float r for £40 also, so £80 for a usable frame. I was rather pleased.

I had thought of that, always loved the custard Cotics. Probably end up black, but i like the sound of snow camo.

My Anthem X, which now has SIDs on it charging to a 2nd at Relentless.

And my girlfriend's lovely Avail 3. So nice, in fact, that I'm going to get a Defy 2.5 to keep it company.

Tell us more about the Anthem X Rolf.

Did you ride the earlier Anthem? If so, how would you compare them?

Oh, and nice pic (and result).

i'm a big fan of giants, i've had a giant rincon, my first half decentish mtb which my old man has, an 05 XTC 3 which was my only mtb for quite a while, still have the frame.
i now have a heavily, heavily modified Reign 1 2007 which is a lot more beefed up than the original, makes a great all mountain bike. pedals all day but really opens up on the descents. just tryin to decide what colour to repaint it from the dullish green. still. its probably the best thing i've spent my student loan on so far

Chakaping- it’s without doubt the fastest XC bike I’ve ever ridden. It’s very quick uphill, and impressively capable downhill- it’s a great trail bike in it’s own right, despite it’s racey intentions. My build is 24lbs with XT, so it’s got massive potential to be a near 20lb trail bike if you can splurge on XTR and so on.

I love it.
