Hi all,
https://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/giant-stance-2-650b-fs-mtb-bike-2018
Opinion please - anyone got one of these? Suitablity for a general towpath/woods evening trundle around bike? My aged and battered body doesn't do anything major, no jumping or DH etc - i just like going to the woodsย on my bike
Cheers
Owen
Had one for 3 yes now ,has done all trail centers I've been to and natural riding ,just replaced the wheels last October for some mavics and fitted a dropper when I bought it , other than that it's been more or less problem free ( only gear cables and other consumables
Great bike but you could get the Boardman FS Pro for a similar price with BC discount or the Calibre Bossnut for less than that, and they both have a better spec, that does come with a dropper, but you could get the Bossnut and a dropper and still it would be slightly cheaper.
More than adequate for your stated use.
Overkill for a towpath ... and depends what your woods trundle consists of.
If by not jumping you mean strictly no air then a XC HT might be better... at that sort of cost you could be talking carbon frame HT. (OK so this is the 2015 edition but you save a chunk of change)

(Chose this as an example as its Giant and same wheel size but just an example and because I have one that gets used for that purpose but lots of options)
If I ride the towpaths etc. I take my XTC ... much more pleasant than my full-suss to pedal on towpaths or local woods... (excluding jumping) however although I do jump it they don't like it... even a lower end (not bottom) HT might be better for towpaths.
At weekends I drive to trail centres or DH and take the FS.... but that's because i have more fun jumping on anything I can find... but if I ride into town or along the towpath I'd never take the FS.
