Thinking of buying an Anthem X but have noticed ebay has an alarming amount of Anthem rear triangles for sale, Are the main frames prone to breaking? or am i being paranoid..

Hi
Have heard of a couple. One who rides with us fairly regularly cracked at seattube toptube junction.
Replaced very quickly under warranty.
Cheers
Steve

yes they area definitely a bit prone to this unfortunately, but the warranty service is excellent. Don't know if this covers just the original owner though, so if buying second hand be aware. Affects frames from '08 onwards. Have seen it on the new 29er too, same place as descibed above every time, adjacent the weld that attaches top tube to seatpost tube

Beautiful bike, "climbs like a homesick angel" and supersharp handling. And again, excellent service from Giant warranty, but was boughth from new.

One guy i know has cracked 2 at seat post tube... but he's way tall and rides a med frame instead of large (with lots of post sticking out).
Replaced under warranty with no problems.. they even gave him a carbon frame after the second replacement failed.

I wonder if the number of failures are statistically related to their popularity?
