[#6059903]

I keep reading how easy ghetto tubeless is to accomplish, but it doesn't work for me, what am I doing wrong?

Mavic 321 rim wound with several layers of duct tape the width of the rim.

Split 20" tube with presta valve.

Ardent foldable. (Does feel a bit loose on the rim)

Stans fluid, 2 scoops, wheel rotated and beads lubricated.

Ghetto inflator.

When trying to inflate, even with the inflator at 80psi, the air seems to fill the tyre really slowly and it doesn't inflate.

Have you taken the core out of the Presta valve ? That will let the tyre inflate much faster.

Core out of valve
Washing up liquid on the bead, tyre, rim interface.
Never bothered with the split tube idea as 2 layers of stans tape works fine with a stans valve in the XM719's

After that you are on the other tricks, strapping the rim down bouncing it, swearing etc. these things are best done with a compressor.

(just fitted 2 ardents to the xm719's last week)

Is it a brand new tyre? I always have to remove any fold creases out with a tube first. Xc717 rim with tape and a valve from an old inner tube.

Remove the valve core on the outlet valve on the inflator as well as on the rim
