Got shouted at today by a rambler type for riding on a bridle path.
"Meant to be for horses" he shouted at me
Hmmm so what were they doing on it?!!

you should have stopped, gone back for a little chat and explained the access position.

Why do I never get these clowns? I'd love to be able to smugly and condescendingly point out to a rambler that they're completely and utterly wrong, but it never happens.

Bit of a highjack, I've stumbled into biking from one too many dry kayaking trips, kayaking is fighting it's own access issues. Surely I'm not going to get grief doing this as well am I? (this thread seems to render that a rhetorical question)

Just so I know what is the "access position"?

Cheers

Thanks zilog6128

It seems, as with kayaking Scotland is the place to be.

Though as with kayaking it's only a civil matter, and AFAIK just as many cyclists have been taken to court for just riding on a footpath as canoeists for just paddling down a river (it's a nice round figure).

maycontainnuts, the only people who are bothered where you ride are people on forums and geriatric ramblers
