x2 MTB with 780mm handlebars, 30lbs + 25lbs, anyone got, or can recommended anything similar?

I thought about front wheel hanging but takes up more room and the bikes protrude out much too far in the room

Make your own with some wooden shelves and hook for the pedals/cranks?

Looks like there might not be enough room for the handle bars, but can't be sure.

Looks like a good idea though, I need something similar myself

I have one of these http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/topeak-dual-touch-bike-stand/rp-prod28862

Pricey, but sturdy and works well, but obviously needs to contact the roof.  My bars are only 740 though, but you can turn the bike hooks out to get the stand closer to the wall.

My plan, although I've not done it yet, is based on the two shelves for the wheels and a hook for the pedals idea. However, I'll remove the front wheel, turn the bars 90° and then capture the axle in a bracket I've yet to make. Should stop them projecting out into the room too much.

Thanks for options, went with this in the end

Liked the one Whyter has but this is better in room as no sloping ceiling contact needed

If you want to narrow it down, try quick detach pedals.

I have too many bikes and so I remove the pedals when putting them away to get more bikes into a limited space.

For the bike I ride the most I use removable pedals from MKS.  https://www.mkspedal.com/?q=en/product/term/3

They take seconds to take off. It is also useful to have quick detach pedals if transporting the bike in a car.
