I have a Garmin Forerunner 305 and I am experiencing problems uploading my data to both Strava.com and Garmin connect.
The upload is getting slower and slower and sometimes just sits there and hangs endlessly.
I wondered if it is to do with the unit having too much data in the memory and if I need to purge it?

yes. delete some of the historical rides. same happened to me.
clearing it down will make it upload 10x quicker
