[#11817626]

So carrying on from this thread where i was having issues with my Galibier order

https://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/winter-bib-tights-and-long-sleeve-jerseys/

All was fine with the bib tights and Pro2 jacket for 2 weeks when i noticed the stitching was coming apart on one of the sleeves

So i emailed Galibier explaining the issue with pics and they replied saying to send it back and they will repair and send it back to me normally within one day of it being received by them

Great i thought, so i sent it back recorded delivery, it was received on the 19th of March and signed for

Since then i have heard nothing, i replied to our email thread on the 24th asking for an update and still haven't heard from them

So today i opened a new enquiry via their website in the hope of getting a response

I know most people only have good things to say about them so is it me being too fussy or just bad luck?

I spend 1000's on bike stuff each year with multiple retailers and never have trouble like this and any hiccups that do happen get sorted quite quickly (Wiggle sent me the wrong wheels last week, within 5 days the wrong wheels had been returned at their cost and the new ones delivered to me with a voucher as a little compensation)

I’ve never had any issues ordering from them in years. Everything has been good quality and the only return - a pair of gloves I order the wrong size- were sent out before I’d returned the others.

Likewise I've had nothing but positive experience from them, emails answered very quickly, zero quality concerns with any product. They have become one of the first places I look when I need some kit.

Certainly doesn't tie up with my experience of their quality and service over the last few years. Really sorry that you seem to have got all our problems in one go.

another +1 here, no issues with service, quality or comms.

In fact, reminds me to have a look at some summer kit.

Didn't love the kit, sweatiest waterproof I've ever worn, but the customer service was spot on, seem like good people and real cyclists. Sounds like bad luck or some sort of mix up

I placed an order on a Thursday night and it was delivered the Saturday morning. Impressive. I returned one top as it was too small (their sizing is on the small side) which was exchanged quickly.

I've only had great service from them.

The ankle zip on my Mistral winter tights went and they sent me a replacement whilst my returned item was still with Postman Pat somewhere.

When buying items there can sometimes be a delay of 1-3 days before they send it but that's normal nowadays. I didn't expect them to be sat waiting for my order

They must not like me then!

It is strange that everyone says they are spot on and reply quickly and have no issues yet this is my first order with them and i seem to have nothing but issues

Hopefully they will get back to me a.s.a.p and let me know what is happening but it does make me wary of using them again plus if i need to use their warranty service in the future id be more inclined to get the item repaired locally

Echo the above. Never an issue on everything I've ordered with them. Had a recent delay but they were really quick to respond and it turned out that they dispatched on time and it was a hold up at the post office.

Update

So after messaging Galibier via their website this morning around 07.30am and asking what is happening with my jacket that they received back one week ago today i had this reply at 12.43 today

Hi

Jacket repaired and posted back to you this morning

So its fixed and on its way back to me, now they didn't give me any tracking details so ill message them back saying thanks and ask for the tracking number

Wish me luck!

@escrs - they're a small company and probably really busy currently so a little patience is needed. I'd be happy to give them a few more days before chasing them up.

I've noticed that everyone is a bit slow right now. Stuff ordered which in normal times is despatched within 24hrs is taking 72+ for some online retailers to get it out of their doors.

I appreciate that but I had to return a 2 week old item due to a manufacturing fault, then they had the item for 7 days without contacting me, it's only because I chased it up this morning that it has been repaired and sent out to me today

If you read my other thread you will see the other issues I've had with them regarding my first order

Yet other people on this thread have placed orders this week and they arrived in 2 days

It's not much to ask that they fix warranty issues quickly and not make a customer wait 7 days with no communication whatsoever

I've still not received any tracking details

Once it arrives I'll check the tracking and postage label like I did last time and found out my order was posted out days after I'd be told it had been despatched

I’ve had good and bad experiences with them. Good: a pair of leather mitts. All faultless. Bad: I bought a pair of minimal tint/clear glasses and they arrived scratched. I posted back at my cost with promise of refund and a replacement pair. Next pair turned up and were dark tint. No postage refund. I contacted them again and said I was going to post the glasses back and to refund them and the two lots of postage. This was agreed.
No refund arrived and when I queried it was told I’d been given a refund, and they showed me a screenshot. There was a spelling mistake in the email address used, which I replied highlighting. Never heard anything more, never got a refund. Decided to never deal with the again.

Another satisfied customer here. Fast, smooth service, no complaints (well, I wish their winter gear was a bit warmer but otherwise they are sound).

I think they are on the side of the angels.

I’m a big fan of Galibier and have absolutely loads of their gear. I sent a repair back (crash repair) and their communication was poor, but they fixed my crashed bib tights for nowt so I was ultimately very happy.

Have just bought my first item from them - endurance bib shorts - primarily because they offer a choice of leg length, and I have short legs.

They answered my pre-sales questions promptly, and the product was delivered promptly.

Only used them on the turbo trainer, so far, but pleased with the quality, price and fit. Will be venturing outside, soon, so will get a better feel for them, then.

Hoping that the experiences of the OP are an unfortunate blip, and that I've found a supplier of a product/service that meets my needs

I only discovered Galibier recently and was very impressed with their customer service.
The item I wanted was out of stock but they took my details and sure enough contacted when the new shipment arrived, not only that but they arrived here only a day or two later - couldn't have been quicker.
I'd certainly use them again.

I’d honestly not heard of Galibier before, but I’ve just had a look on their website and can’t for the life of me find anything to moan about 😢

Can I suggest OP doesn't use them again? You seem to have the bad luck .

aP and Shanner sorry if you think im just moaning but if you dont like then please stay off the thread and dont give me abuse

I work in customer service and deal with multi national companies who i send out 1'000's of items out everyday on their behalf via multiple delivery companies using various different levels of despatch methods

When i receive bad customer service and lack of communication it does annoy me, as its an important part of my job

Yes everyone has bad days and things can go wrong (we are all human) but Ive had issues from the beginning of this order

As Ive said before i hope Galibier come good on the repair and i have no more issues

That's exactly what i thought, they and their customer reviews say their customer service is excellent and repairs and issues are sorted very quickly, unfortunately this has not been the case for me it seems, the problem only began once my order was placed and hopefully im in the minority and things will come good in the end

Can I suggest OP doesn’t use them again? You seem to have the bad luck .

It does seem that way, as Ive said hopefully they will come good and everything is now sorted

it’s not abuse - you asked this

I know most people only have good things to say about them so is it me being too fussy or just bad luck?

and they’re saying you’re fussy - you’ve now got two threads moaning about them and it might all be fine and worst case you are unlucky

edit: maybe the stoat comment is unnecessary

So being called a moaning ****t is not abuse?

The first thread was about the order and delivery issues i had

This thread is about the repair and delivery issues im currently having

Anyway as i said its on its way back now so hopefully its all sorted and Galiber are not known to have poor customer service so Ive just been unlucky, maybe a bit too fussy but given my work background and the things Galibier say on their website i was expecting better

So lets leave this thread at that

The little handwritten personalised note they put in with the orders always makes me smile. A lovely touch.

Go on. Where did I say that?
I just think your expectations are somewhat out of whack and want a bit of attention. Which to be honest, I'm sure we'd all like that currently, but i'd have thought that there were slightly more positive ways of doing it.

I’ve used Galibier many times and their value, quality of product and customer service is second to none in my opinion.

I am sure they will sort out any issues you have. In these crazy times we have to give everyone a bit of slack...

Let's not.

You start a thread (x2), don't like the response then want to close it down. Nope. It dunt work like that.

Never used Galibier (apart from a pair of Superguides in the early 80's - peanut to anyone recognising the reference without using Google) so no experiences/axes to grind.

OP you are coming across a bit OTT IMO. I am not sure what your job and the processes you are expected to follow has anything to do with the way another company performs theirs, it can be like comparing apple and oranges. How do you know it was only repaired and sent because you chased it, maybe it was working it’s way through their system and was repaired and sent when they got to it. Yes they said items are ‘usually’ dealt with within a day but things are not always usual right now. And what exactly do the dates on labels tell you? They may be a bit later if they are awaiting a courier to collect or process etc? it does seem like you are trying to pick fault and, to you original question, yes IMO you are being too fussy. But looking at your replies you will probably disagree with me.

was i referring to Shanner as regards to the abuse which i reported hence why its no longer visible

As to the repair comments i was told it would be repaired the same day it arrives and sent out the following day, as it arrived on a Friday morning i presumed it would be fixed that day and sent on Monday, after not hearing anything by Weds i asked via email for an update and had no reply so on Friday i messaged them via the website and was told it was shipped out that day

As for sorting it out free of charge it was a two week old item that the stitching began to unravel at the cuffs and was covered under warranty

Again i know things are busy at the moment but i was told it would be a same day repair and sent out the next day, not a week wait and me having to chase them up

Again with the abuse Shanner, im not self entitled or a moaner but when im told to expect an item to be fixed and returned with 2 days of it being received that's what i expect

As this thread is starting to be used to give abuse ill wont comment on it anymore

Hopefully everything will work out once the jacket makes it back to me
