hi - I missed out on the fox forks I wanted on the CRC sale (want to change to 15mm instead of QR) but they've got 100mm forks left - would this be a good/bad thing?

I can't imagine it would be a good thing. It would steepen the head angle and give you mismatched suspension travel - less at front than rear.

I wouldn't.
If anything I'd go slightly longer to slacken it off a bit and give a more hooligan feel.
