Haven't been for last 3 or 4 years, but junior is now keen that we go up for the day on Sunday. Used to always get advance tickets but obviously too late this time. Any chance of getting gondola tickets on the day if turning up around 11 am ?

I'd not be that bothered tbh, an hours walk up the hill and you get to see the best of the racing IMO. Last year we spent so long trying to get through the steep muddy bottleneck in the woods that we missed far more racing than I'd have liked to.

Was riding the DH track on opening day and it appears they've put in a much easier access track up to the road gap. They've basically cleared and leveled a straight line all the way from the bottom up to the road gap. Could get a two lane road in. Should save people clambering through undergrowth or walking all the way round the fire road

Smidge, sun cream and a device (phone or tablet) that connects to Red Bull TV. Find your favourite place to watch and keep track of the bits you cant see (and the times) using the app!

IME you won't get any on the day. But don't fret, the walk up isn't that bad if you are averagely fit, and beats standing in the gondola queue for an hour. I have been known to vom in the gondola so usually start walking when my friends join the queue. Have beat them to the top more than once.

Is a good view however, so worth it if you have never done it before.
