Just fitted a new FSA Orbit internal headset. Cups are properly seated and everything running real smooth...but i'm not sure if I've fitted right. Looks like there is too much space at the bottom. There were no rings or seals for the bottom.
You can see the crown race (gold)
Bearing cartridges upsidedown ? Correct Crown race?
Doesn't look right - have you put the bearings in wrong way round?
def not right you shouldnt see any of the assembly check the bottom bearing
cheers folks
The Crown Race was the split one that came with the headset so i imagine it's the right one.
I'll take it apart again this evening to check the bearings.
I don't have an outer seal on the lower cup on mine either. Isn't that gold thing supposed to go under the stem?
Crown race is silver on mine
Can't quite tell, but looks like you're using the compression ring as the crown race
Ah...so the crown race isn't split on this headset? but is on other FSA headsets?
yeh that's upside down dude.
flippig heck, yeah, what Mike said
+1 ๐ I did wonder as I said correct crown race ๐

nope, but you can cut it with a saw...
Compression ring goes under the FSA cap, against the bearing, you need to swap those two when you assemble it!
Excellent, cheers folks.
I'll get this corrected tonight.
Feel like a bit of a tool ๐ณ
Wey - sorted ๐
well done that man!
Ahh, STW strikes again!
An understandable error, well spotted guys! ๐
