[#3440685]

My front mech wont shift particularly well. I am using a SRMA Rival front mech and shifter with 34 & 46tooth chainrings.

It doesnt shift well into the larger sprocket, and when it does it often over shifts.

Any ideas?

Had something very similar with an XO double on a Lapierre recently, eventually gave up on it and gave the customer a Shimano mech(supposedly a downgrade, but worked every time).

Checked the height of the mech? Should clear the teeth in the larger cog by about 2mm.. also is the mech completly straight? Is the lower limit screw set in far enough as this will mean the shifter can pull enough cable to get the top cog. Sorry if youve tried those already, but rule those out and im sure it should work.

The height and limit screws are all spot on to my knowledge (except the H screw which needs to be wound quite far out to allow the mech to shift onto the outer ring)

Could it be a shifting ramp/pin problem? The chainring ive got (stronglight) the ramps on it dont look quite as good as on the sram it replaced. Do the ramps have to line up with anything?

Ramps don't normaly line up with anything. Sometimes turning the mech slightly, so the back end is closer to the wheel , helps with fussy shifting.

Ive tried the mech in several different orientations, it doesnt seem to make much difference.
