[Closed] front mech set up issues.
Having finished my bfe build I am having problems getting the gears set up.
Most of the drivetrain slx double and bash (apart from chain and cassette) has come from my hardrock.
The issue is that I can't seem to get the front mech to come out far enough( so that its only 1mm from chain) . Would I be right in thinking that when I set the limit screws on my hardrock 68mm shell, now its transfered to bfe 73mm shell, this is where the problem is?
It does shift to both rings but doesn't seem smooth at all. The rear mech is way out too. I'm also running a Blackspire stinger.
I had no problem setting up from New but this has me baffled. I've taken a look on park tools to no avail.

How many spacers did you put on the BB?
The BB shell width should not make any difference. If you Hardrock was 68mm, you should have been running with 3 spacers in total (2 driveside). On a 73mm BB like the BFE, you should normally only use 1 spacer on the driveside.
If that isn't the problem then I would just start your setup from scratch - slacken off cables and retighten, adjust limit screws appropriately etc. You cannot really expect to transfer across without having to adjust screws etc.
Thanks for the reply. The spacers are ok. I'll give it another try. Failing that I'm having the lbs shorten the brake hoses at the weekend, ill just ask them to take a look!
