just wonderring what 'direct fit' meant.. any ideas?

Direct fit does what it says on the tin - bolts straight to the frame with no clamp.

it means you already have a mount for it on your frame. if your front mech clamps round the seat tube then no.
edit.. too slow!

You can buy bolt-on clamps to convert a normal frame into direct fit.
