Say you had a shock from on old frame that was in dire need of a rebuild/service (stanchion and can are OK AFAIK), and then you had the offer of a new frame that took that exact size shock but with a completely different suspension set up/characteristics, would it be easy enough to get a tuning company to rebuild the shock to suit the new frame? Presumably this is straightforward, bread and butter stuff for a competent company, but wondered if there might be any issues?

Good point. I am pretty sure it is a Rockshox Monarch+ but would have to check

Not easy to answer without knowing which air can, tune (usually on the sticker) and the frame/suspension linkage type.

Unfortunately it is possible to be completely at odds and the cost of alteration can be prohibitively expensive.
