ok don't get me wrong but im no expert on knowing how much air i should be putting into my forks, ive noticed they do seem a bit hard so i decided to take some air out as i was getting only a small bit of sag.. i have fox float 36`s and ive just had a look at how much air is currently in and they have 60psi so ive lowered it down to about 40psi and now the sag seems better and the forks seem alot more plush? is the word lol and im only getting about half an inch of sag now, what is the correct sag i should be getting and what kind of air should i really need, i weight about 10 stone if that helps cheers!!

you want around 40-55mm sag. whatever air pressure achieves this is absolutely fine

Personally I think setting up the sag on any air fork is a bit of a dark art. It's quite easy to set them up with enough air pressure to get the right amount of sag when sat static on the bike only to find they are too soft when out on the trail. Te problem is that you tend to move your weight forward when riding especially so the amount of air you need to maintain the same spring rate will be different. When you're sat on the bikenin the garage, you'll find your not quite as over the front as you will be shown riding.

For reference I'm about 50% heavier than you and run my 36s with about 75psi in them. I get about 20% sag when sat stationary in the garage but a gentle ride up and down the street with my weight a little forward gives me about 30%. I personally think this is a better way to set forks up.

try different settings

40,45,50,55,60,65 psi etc

then choose which you think feels best, forget sag

I'm 11st and run about 55psi. I don't get hung up about how much sag I'm getting, I go on how they feel and how much total travel is being used.
Floats are very pressure sensitive, you should be changing your settings by 1 or 2psi at a time, not 20!

I'm 13+ stone and run 50-55 psi - they feel awesome. For me they feel good up to about 60psi where they lose sensitivity, and below 45psi they are too wallowy. Try a few different pressures and see what works best.

There's no right answer for this - set them up by feel. One of the beauties of air forks is that you can get them set up exactly how you like them without needing to change springs etc

Like others have suggested, don't worry too much about sag.
Find a nice route a couple of miles long with varied terrain and hit it with different pressures, see which one feels best. I'm 85KG so mine have a little more pressure but it's a personal thing....
