[Closed] FOX FIT: How do people run the lockout threshold and low speed compression?

Hi all,

I am curious as to how people in Singletrackland run their FOX FIT RLC's...

I have been running the low speed compression somewhere in the middle setting to have a pretty plush but not too bobby feel (which I use for the majority of the time) and then set the lockout threshold to the minimum setting to give a sort of 'platform' feel rather than fully, rigidly locked when locking the forks out (used for extended road/ fireroad only).

By doing this I feel I either have 'plush' with the lockout open or 'platform' with the lockout closed. Fully rigid doesn't make too much sense to me especially when pretty much all of the bob is removed with the lockout threshold on the lowest setting.

Is this a pretty normal way to run them or am I completely missing the point of these adjustments?

Many thanks, DanW

Turn the LSC all the way to off and get your air pressure correct first. Then add LSC as you feel you need it. I usually set mine at either one or two clicks for most trail riding. Sometimes I don't use any damping.

My LO is on perhaps three or four clicks. There's movement enough to eliminate many deflections, but it stands up well enough to give better efficiency on climbing or on relatively smooth trails. The threshold works to give 'normal' suspension on bigger incidents.

If you're having issues with front-end bobbing, you might want to check your technique. Keeping core stability means you're not wasting energy pumping at the handlebar. Other than moment-specific traction, there's nothing to be gained from pumping the bar with the pedal stroke.

I didn't mean to give the impression that bobbing was a problem - it really isn't. I was just curious as to how best to use the adjustments provided. I rarely use the lockout to be honest as there is very little smooth terrain on my normal rides. As I say I was just curious. Ta!
