Ok, the last one was a bit of a rhetorical question, but I was partly referring to when comparing them to something like Totems.

I've got one sitting in the corner of the living room. Will hopefully get around to putting it on at some point. Sorry that doesn't help at all!

I don't have the 180s but since you havnt had any replies yet I decided to add my thoughts...

I have the older 36 Vanilla RC2s (160mm) and they are super smooth and reliable. Plenty of adjustment to get your compression set properly. Also pretty light for a big fork.

I use them for downhill with no problems, i would say defiantly get a set!!
