Argh!! I've got this Halfords cycle to work voucher for £1000 (all paid up) but what I really want is to buy a £1500 bike (Cube Agree GTC), can anyone think of a way around the voucher limit restriction???

I'm thinking the only way is to buy a different bike and then sell it on!

What you need is a friendly LBS, not a Halfrauds 🙁

I take it your ride to work is quite far then.

Thought you could top it up yourself, but that part was not tax free?

Not on the halford's scheme it is a strict £1000 limit from what I can tell. The cyclescheme definately seems like the better one. I've actually paid all the money for the voucher and a final payment for a non-existant bike so it's not a question of ownership as I keep getting told, annoying it is, i've had it for over a year now!

I thought the voucher expired after a complete financial year

They renew them and send you a different one with a new expiry date.

Halfrauds

Ironic considering the OP is uning it as a Tax dodge for the last 12 months rather than cycling to work?

More like from what I've been told, so-far.

tax-dodge? that implies I have benefitted somehow, which I haven't.

Sounds like youve signed up for something without reading the terms first, hard luck, muppet.

😆 at the sanctimonious ****ers. As others have said, you need to use a decent LBS and top up. Sounds like it may be too late though.

Yeah, I was kind of hoping that someone might suggest a decent LBS that would help me out tbh.

On-one did it for me, but that was 2 years ago. Worth asking though if they have anything you fancy.
