[#1719573]

Got a set of 2nd hand dual air Revelations a few weeks ago. Took them apart, changed the oil and just made sure they looked ok. Since putting them back together I've noticed I'm only getting about 100mm of travel then they ramp right up and won't go any further. Checked to make sure there is oil still in the pos chamber, and emptied out the neg chamber. Doesn't seem to have leaked through. No reduction spacers fitted. Any ideas?

I take it they are Dual Air?
You should have 6ml in the air chamber to lubricate the seals and then 15ml or so in the lower leg.
On the damper side u should have about 115 ml in the damping system (check service manual for exact amounts) and another 15 ml in the lower leg.

From your description it sounds like your damping oil is leaking into the lower leg stopping the fork achieving full travel. Might need a full damper strip down and check the o-rings are all ok.
I had this problem with my Reba's (the lockout had stopped working), I stripped & rebuilt the damping side & used the same o-rings and it's been fine since.

Just measured the oil that was in the damper leg and its only the 15ml that I put in, however I can`t push the damper rod further than 100mm back in to upper leg.(I'm guessing by its length that it needs to go the whole way in to achieve full travel)

Just trying to remember how far the damper rod goes in on my Reba's & I think it is pretty much all the way...

Sounds like u need to give the Damper side a strip to see what's going on.

I take it the rod on the spring side retracts fully if the air pressures are removed?

Thanks Stumpy, just checked the manual and stripped the damper. Put it back together and now pushes all the way in. I didn`t check the oil level in the damper before I changed it but I think it was overfull.
Sorted.
Cheers

Cool! It's a good feeling when you sort things like that out.

Need to service the air side of my Reba's as oil is leaking fromthe u-turn adjuster every time I invert the bike. Hmmm, might go and do that now - I think it just needs a new o-ring...

Right - well i'vw serviced them, but the o-ring that stops oil coming out of the u-turn adjusted if the bike's upside down is way too puny.
No equivalents available so I built it back up and made sure it was real tight. It's better now, but still weeps out.

I spoke to tft about this ages ago and they said they use a different o-ring to cure it. Need to se if they'll tell me the dims.
