I am going to have some rigid forks modified for touring by adding low rider bosses and 2 sets of water bottle bosses (salsa fargo style) but can anyone tell me is there a correct position for the low rider bosses or do I just get them put half way between axle and crown?

It might be better/cheaper to just buy a set of Project 2 forks which have the low rider bosses already fitted. I'd have to question the wisdom of drilling lots of holes through a lightweight fork.

I got an axiom rack meant for suss forks to fit my road carbon forks, no drilling needed.

A few examples here:

- looks like the upper boss is about halfway up, and the lower boss pretty close to the dropout

thanks.

I specifically want the water bottle bosses since my 853 inbred only has mounts for 1 bottle on the frame and also I want to get some weight to the front of the bike so thought I might aswell have low rider bosses at the same time. They will be brazed in so the forks should not be weakened in any way
