Anyone know what the current conditions are like in the Forest of Dean, especially Dowies/Shutcastle area and Staple-edge?

Greasy with wheel-sized holes filled with leaves ๐Ÿ˜‰ย  Dowies not really affected by the wet (except for the old 'son of...' Does anyone still ride that?), Shutcastle some wet roots, Staple-edge same. Dry yesterday, drizzling today, mostly riding fine with decent tyres.

Was out at Staple Edge last Sunday, most of the trails we rode were tricky to follow because of fallen leaves, although I don't ride there very often so every time is like I'm riding everything blind anyway.

Shutcastle & Dowies usually hold up quite well.

Was also out at the trail center for a night ride last night and general conditions in the area seem ok

Rode Staunton on Wednesday night. Surface still very firm but leaves and wet roots made for excitement. Despite drizzle for an hour we were all mud free and able to drive home without changing clothes. Yesterday was nice and dry & Sunday. Today less so. I guess tomorrow conditions will be no different to Wednesday.
