Great article here on Peckham BMX club

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/resources/idt-sh/parklife

My local BMX club in Preston does similar work with kids from all walks of life, and I know a few people who used to go to Coppull (Mid-Lancs) BMX track who felt the same.

Cheers for that!  Tracks come on a bit!  I went to a open day/fun race/ oldies on MTBs welcome with Dialled Mike and a bunch off the Chocolatefoot forum years ago. Quillan's name definitely rings a bell, I'm sure he was riding that day.

Such a nice atmosphere that day.  CK was obviously a massive part of the vibe.

ENERGYYYYY!

Read that earlier, linked from the funny squirrel pics. Marvellous article in every way. Some of the shot of the kids are quite moving. Awesome.

Read that at lunchtime. Superb stuff and a good read. Good to see the positive effects 2 wheels is having on the local community.

Read it earlier and it really shows the power having fun on a bike can have.

I was there too, yes he and Tre were riding that day, I mostly remember ‘big mike’ who I guess was in his teens then, huge bloke but he made it look like he was floating round the track.

just goes to show what you can do in communities if you channel a bit of money and tap in to the goodwil of key people who have the drive to bring about positive change.

I read this earlier, brilliant article. Politicians spend vast amounts of money on some latest initiative, but stuff like this is where the money should be spent. Not only do they keep kids off the street, give them self worth etc, there's the added bonus of world class athletes.

Great article, and a perfect example of why cycling clubs are important, despite what some people on here will tell you!

I’m sure I watched a documentary on something like Netflix a while back about this club when it was at the old track, it’s was a brilliant watch.

They may be talking about other sorts of cycling clubs though.

Great article, thanks for sharing. Not all kids are bad kids these days, lucky to have this resource and a great coach available.
