Coming down to see the parents and have decided to bring the bike and go to the FOD on Friday, not sure where to go and what to expect, was going to head for the pedalbikeaway centre and head off from there, is this a good choice? looking for single track and DH.

The dh can be rooty in places, its all fast and quite flowy though. The last few sections the vederers trail are awesome fun as well. Recommended!

Plenty of everything.

Some of it is waymarked and easy to find, and is very enjoyable. Then there's lots of great stuff that you'd need a local guide for too, but then if you're only there for a day, I'd not worry so much. The waymarked Blue trail "Verderers" is about 11km long iirc, the old red "FODCA" trail is a lot shorter but more technical and singletracky. Do both, then mess about on the DH's or find someone to show you some hidden stuff maybe.

DH wise it's all pretty easy to find too. The DH runs are all pretty close to the pedalabikeaway centre.

I went for the first time bank holiday Friday. I quite liked the Freeminer (FODCA) - old skool XC. The descents on Verderers were a gas too, in fact after doing a complete loop, I repeated the final descent 4 times getting a little faster each time.

I also did a couple of the DH sections near the push up - they were fun - typically rutted rooty stuff; I just roll the jumps! There were load of proper DHers around some doing spectacular things on the big tabletops - wonderful to watch.
