off to FoD tomorrow - not been before. Can anyone tell me if it's dog friendly?
i.e the trails not to flinty or runs next to roads etc
cheers in advance
Ben
Plenty of trees to hang bags of cr4p on. ๐
Verdeers not rocky or next to roads but it is pretty busy so the normal can of worms of dogs at trail centres would be opened. Lots of others non-waymarked stuff about.
Its a bike trail centre, personally I wouldn't say it's the place for tag along pets as other riders one the trail will not be expecting them.
If you want to ride with your dog, go somewhere other than a trail centre, like the rest of Cannock Chase
I once heard one of the trees call a dog a c***, so I'm guessing no? ๐
I'd take mine but not on a weekend/school holiday as it gets very busy. The ground's pretty soft/smooth on the whole.
Expect a lot of not-particularly-helpful answers to this re the pros/cons of dogs at trail centres.
The Forest of Dean is a
?bike trail centre,

It's friendly but if your dog poops and you don't clean it up expect what will happen next it starts with loss of stw account and lastly branding with a hot iron that says I'm really a dog walking cyclist hating spy LOL
On a serious note the pretty good trails to have dog run with you i would take my mutt but he's getting on and not been well this year due to that crappy virus that was doing the rounds.
dated many of the forests dogs...
dont hate the player..hate me an ex forester! I ESCAPED ๐
Fine for dogs.Watch if you go over Ellwood direction you will come across sheep. If your dog is fine with sheep no probs.FOD is not a trail centre and hopefully it never will be.People are funny about dogs on here because they can descent quicker than them on a 3k bike.Dog will have a whale of a time chasing squirrels down there.
would love to meet the dog owner who let their dog crap on the FODCA trail last weekend, which I narrowly avoided, but the 9yo (first time on proper trails, loving every minute of the fodca and verderers) kid I was showing around managed to cycle straight through, thanks

Looking at the rest of his post I think steve_b77 was getting the Forest of Dean and Follow the Dog mixed up.
Yeah. Some one else who agrees with me.
The FoD is Not a trail centre thank F!
Bring the dog. Exercising your hound came before cycling so they are welcome.
Re sheep. Assume that unless it is a working sheep dog or gun dog that it will chase them and you will not be popular. The boar don't mind being chased but big mammas chase dogs.
