Rich no need for you to worry about what the course at SSEC will be like as you've not paid for you entry so won't be riding. ๐Ÿ˜‰

agent.

Yes it's Dowies. Well the top half anyway. The middle section is being harvested.

Would be really helpful is someone could pinpoint on Multimap (on the OS map option) where Dowies actually starts?
Cheers if you can.

SORT OUT THE BRAKE CABLES!

ahem

And find some hills, I have to agree with postie, sorry!

I've learned that helmet/bar cams are brilliant for making your best bits of riding look suitably boring and flat and not worth riding, even when they are! [url=

bar-mounted fast sweepy bit of treework with a wipeout... ๐Ÿ˜†

SORT OUT THE BRAKE CABLES!

I think you'll find they're brake hoses ๐Ÿ™„ and fine where they are thanks.

I'd have gone faster but I wanted to follow the KoS if that's alright with you? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Edit.

Just seen your link. I'm lost for words.

sss - I didn't know you were capable of identifying the difference between cables and hoses from a 640x480 wobbly vid - how very impressive of you! ๐Ÿ˜‰ And by sort I meant move them out of the frame as it's distracting!

I'd have gone faster but I wanted to follow the KoS if that's alright with you?

If you wish.

Just seen your link. I'm lost for words.

Indeed, slow, boring.

If you look close you can even see Shimano printed on the hose.

Don't watch the vid and you won't get distracted then...

Oh and almost forgot one of these. ๐Ÿ˜‰

For what it's worth I put the video up for two reasons.
1. It has a Swedish national champion on it. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ
2. Loads of folks ask about Dowies trail so they might find it interseting.

[i]The start of Dowies 1
In Ellwood, just keep going straight on past the football field - straight at the cross roads and onto a forest lane to the left hand side of a cottage. Turn right behind the cottage onto the start of the trail it splits to the left into a small ditch / corner. This is Dowies 1.

Looks rather Thetford-like to me, which is no bad thing.

Who needs hills when you've got pedals?

Roll on SSEC10 (preferably with warmer weather)

incorrect, that is not the start of the trail.

I used to grumble when I first started riding in and around the peaks, often yearning for something more 'flowy' which you appear to have.

Nice little vid, looks nice and quick, very tranquil and quite a beautiful place to be.

I still prefer riding up here though ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sat on his wet back side, unable to stand up, slightly off piste and four meters away from the top of the pink run lift is where the best signal is received I beleive.

You think he's even got that far then Swede?

My money says he's sat in a mountaintop cafe stuffing his wok with cake.

OOhhh, I like a disagreement ๐Ÿ˜€ ... it is the start of Dowies but you put in a bonus bit before the original starting point so you are indeed correct saying that it isn't the start of the 'trail' ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰

I notice that a link has been made between the top of what we call The Skull Trail [the one in the video above which Dowie laid out as an alternative to his original trail] and the Bigfoot Trail [laid out by Bigfoot MTB club] which exits onto the track opposite the start of Dowies 2.

Hopefully all will not be lost in the felling going on at the moment but I'm sure Dowie as an ex Forestry Contractor may be keeping an eye on things...

He tells me he has been boarding this morning. I assumed he ment snow boarding but he probably ment boarding the special buss that collects lost gingers that find them selves stranded and dribbling on the mountain.

Yes your are correct - not the trail start as in the video - that is about here.

As psling says Dowies does start about here.
About 38 seconds into your video you reach the start of the original Dowies.

Bit of Dowies 1 video found here: http://www.vholdr.com/node/25900
