Took mine out for a trial tonight. Had intermittent problems, was initially no where near bright enough, I have a 900 lumen magicshine on a bar mount to compare with.
Went home and swapped the battery but it seemed to be flickering, eventually settled down and I went out round the local woods for about an hour without issues. Stopped at pub on way home and then had same issues as before. Seems to be switching between modes flashing etc and they light fades like them battery is dying...
Any suggestions before I go back to seller?
I'd just go straight back to the seller, if it's not working properly and is in warranty then it's their responsibility to sort it out. Not had any problems with mine so far.
I had a light do the same, returned it and got a replacement.
Could be one of many things. Water ingress, a loose wire inside, faulty switch, etc. Just send it back and get it replaced. Two year warranty on them, isn't there?
Was it the single or 3x you've got? Just ordered the new XML2 single led unit from Bike Lights UK - I was tempted by the 3x, but thought I'd give the smaller one a go on the helmet first.
Ok, got a response from the seller: the led unit screws into the head piece, and this can be loose, so give it a quarter turn and it all is fine and tight, no flickering or fading.
