I have a very old pair of Wellgo MG1 that I am considering upgrading. Have lost loads of pins and the bodies are too mashed to bet new grub screws back in.
I've size 44 five 10's and feel like my feet are dropping off the outer edges, so would like to try something larger.
Have measured the MG1's myself and checked their dimensions on the CRC site and by looking at dimensions of pedals like Horizons and Vaults, they may actually not be any bigger.
I fancy something like the composite Burgtecs, composite HT's or may stretch my budget to some Horizons. So can anyone shed some light as to if these pedals are actually any bigger than the MG1's?
Also - bonus question - apart from plan shape, is there a sizing difference between the Horizon Pro's and the Horizon Pro Enduro?

Bear in mind some of the 'width' is in the axle, Burgtec IIRC come in two different axle lengths as the standard one feels quite narrow.
I've currently got some Da-Bomb Bear Bones which have had 8 years on-off use, admittedly mostly off so don't read too much into the durability. They're a re-badged HT AE-01, think they're upto AE-05 now, and there's a mag version too that's even lighter. Quite expensive though, and TBH I think I'll just get burgtecs on the longer axles when they die.
I changed from mg-1s to Nukeproof Horizon Sam Hills
Slightly larger and much better all round, notably grip (toe ball pins make a big difference) and longevity (doesn’t shed pins like the mg-1s did!)
I have MG1s on my commuter and Horizons on everything else, I couldn't actually tell you the sizes but the Horizons feel much bigger.
Pinkbike and NSMB have pedal tests this week. The pinkbike one lists the width of the pedal from the start of the axle to the outer edge of the body. NSMB has side by side comparisons.
the nukeproof horizon is big. As is the XT.
edit. By big, I mean wide
In terms of the physical platform I’ve got 2 sets of pedals that are bigger than the old mg-1’s I’ve also got.
