How big does the Nano X EVO platform feel? Only have size 8’s!

Anyone seen the gunmetal colour in the flesh? Was going to go Blue but thinking of not going for a colour look!

What’s going on with Nukeproof pedals?! Hardly any stock of most colours. Is this to do with the CRC/Wiggle merger as CRC took over Nukeproof?

I have  https://www.evanscycles.com/ht-components-ans-01-alloy-flat-pedal-EV303282  on one of my bikes and I think I’m going to get another set. They are really well sealed, I like the shape and size and they’re not quite into stupid money.

I rode some Burtec’s on a demo bike and I like them, but not for £100!

They feel fine to me, I'm size 8.5 in most shoes. I have used the old Welgo flats, old DMR V8/V12 and more recently V6's, which I think are the same as the current V8/V12 too. The Nano X Evo feel bigger, but I actually prefer that as it offers more support. They also have more grip than the plastic, non replaceable pins in the V6.

I've only done a couple of rides on my Nano X Evos but so far I can't fault them. The only thing worth mentioning is that they come with a selection of long and short pins, but no pins are fitted out of the box so you might want to buy some thread locking compound if you don't already have some. I'm not sure if most pedals come like this.

EDIT, I opted for stealth black as my frame is white with black decals, and I wasn't keen on the white stripes on the other colours. I am a bit boring though.

I’m a solid size 9 so not sure if I could go with the smaller Shimano’s. I prefer a smaller platform as it gives me a bit more room around rocks and roots…

V12s also look decent, cheap enough but think Nano will will be the choice!

Mate is after some Nukeproof ones but black are out of stock everywhere!

Burgtec  Penthouse if you want something that's going to last.

I've ripped both the left and the right one out of XT cranks through pedal strikes that have caused huge crashes...

Both of them are still in working order with straight axles. Though looking a bit second hand on the cosmetic side.

Anodising is no match for rocks and constant shoe wear.

Wellgo MG-1s here. Used for 4-6 months of the year for the last 5 years. Absolutely brilliant and no sign of play in the bearings or bushings yet.

CRC have them on offer in their ‘we’re not really closing down, honest’ sale

I did change the pins pins out for some slightly longer ones to improve the grip tho.

I have Vaults. They're fine, but also I invested in the servicing tool so now I have to have Vaults always and so does my girlfriend and her daughter.

On the rocks I ride, the Vaults erode like sea-glass. It's OK, they look worn in.

🙂

So trying out the superstar nano x and I'm sort of thinking they are a tad wide for my size 8 feet. Where as on the Nukeproof pedals my foot was contacting pins either side, on the Nano, I am not placing my foot fully on all the pins.
