I have ( for the first time ) seemingly got a corrupted garmin file....... it generates an error saying bad data?

I've read online about a fixing tool for PC, but I am on Mac at the moment .... does anyone know any Mac solutions - or be able to fix a corrupt file for me using a tool?

Would be very welcome if I could fix this particular file!!!

I've used Garmin Kiesewetter before. Although I can't remember if I did this on a laptop or macbook.

Garmin files are just XML files so open it up in notepad and have a look or change the file extension to .XML and open it in a browser.

That's true for TCX or GPX files.

But newer Edge and Forerunners are using FIT format. These are a binary format, so you won't see anything useful if you open it in a text editor.

Post the file on the Garmin Edge forum, there are people over there that fix those files all the time.
