I have some LX chainrings from about 2009 that I am going to fit tonight (to LX cranks). I have done it before and never had a problem. However I never checked how I put them on. Are you meant to align the rings somehow so all the ramps and pins line up for better shifting or does it not matter? Cheers

There usually marked in some way and the marks line up behind the crank arm. The big rings mark is the pin to stop the chain getting jammed behind the crank.

normally a little plip on the inside edge of the small and middle rings which I assume goes inline with the crank. On the big ring there is normally a metal pin as anc says above.

Thanks. I will take a look for the marks on the small and middle chain rings.
