I've bought new jockey wheels for my rear mech as the old ones were buggerd, do you pack the littel metal bearing thingy with grease when installing?
there seemingly are two schools of thought on bearing maintenance (add you own if you think there more!):
a) by doing this you risk (or are) damaging the seals, and so sortening the life of the bearing overall.
b) they put damned all grease in, in the first place, so it's a good idea.
I tend to stick will the first option, but as I replaced my x9 jockey wheels, they almost instantly started to jam up and caused me lots of grief.
bizzare, surely a little grease can't harm things?
it's not the grease, it damaging the seals when you take them off.
This kinda assume there are rubber seals - which thinking about it, they might just have the outer shields covers, don't they?
Grease away!
