OK - this looks like it is second thread today along the lines of I can't fit my brakes!

I have an older 2007 Specialized Epic, the ones where the shock and brain are positioned along the non drive side seat stay.

The bike came with Avid Juicy 7's which have served me well for the last few years, but rather than overhauling them (wouldn't know how and can't be ar$ed) I have just bought some new Avid Elixir brakes from Merlin. So far so good, However ...

The problem is the hose goes into the inner side of the new brakes, whereas it went into the outer side of the old brakes. This makes no difference to fitting the front brake but because of the position of the brain the rear brake will not fit.

Can I simply resolve this by just loosening the banjo and repositioning the hose, I forgot about this on my first attempt, but my thinking is that it will require some significant rotation and not just a few degrees.

Pretty sure I have played around with hose alignment before when fitting brakes to my other hard tails and never had any problems with needing to re-bleed, but the local Specialized Concept store put some doubts in my mind about getting air into the system.

Any one else fitting newer Elixirs to older Epics?

Cheers
Gary

Yes, just rotate the banjo, be fine.
