I have just fitted an E Thirteen chain DSS guide and bashring, but I have a problem, the chain when on the 22T ring rubs on the metal back plate when coming off the the chainring.
I have all the correct spacers in, the roller assembly is in-line with the bottom of the BB.
This is a BB fixed backplate, I have no ISCG mounts
SETUP: Backplate - 1mm Spacer - BB cup
I can't see what I can adjust apart from adding another spacer but then that puts out my chainline.
Any advice?
I wouldn't trust the setup instructions 100% - I used to have one and ended up sawing / filing bits of it off to get it to fit properly - they are a nightmare so youre not alone
Just add the other spacer, you won't notice the difference to your chain-line.
I have the opposite problem. There is enough space between the granny ring and the back plate that the chain often drops in there and jams solid when shifting rings!
Works great at keeping the chain on the big ring though...
What cranks are you using? I've got exactly the same problem with a DRS and raceface cranks. My cranks won't even turn with everything tightened up!
I'm using raceface Ride XC 22 - 32 everything is fine apart from the rub, i might use the spacer that I used before that came with the Hope BB
Ditto, I had problems too. Chain ring bolts rubbed on the back plate when all was tightened up. Ended up using more spacers and a file on the cranks. I've not noticed any difference so I'd just get a bit experimental if I were you
