trek powerfly 5 ht...
so I can take the battery out and see where the cables clip in on the downtube...
but do I need to remove the motor to get the cable around it and up the seat tube?
Google and forums don't seem to give an answer...

Probably, yes.
It'll almost certainly be quicker to drop the motor than spend ages fiddling around trying to feed the outer past the motor.
IME yes too. Which i wasn't prepared to do for the Liv we have here. Mostly because i didn't know if i could put it all back correctly.
If she gets a dropper, it will be a Vyron 😀
Didn't have to on the OH's Levo, just fed the cable past the motor.
Screw Vyron get an AXS Reverb - they’re mint. Cable problem solved.
Does it have a sumpgurd type thing under the motor, wife's powerfly the dropper cable is accessible by undoing the 4 bolts that holding it on.
