Just bought a hybrid to start getting out more rather than on MTB all the time and finding my baggies too baggy with the wind etc!

Usually wear Endura Humvees to bike in with papped lycra underneath.

Anyone recommend a fitted short to wear over my padded ones for the road..... Not ready to go Lycra clad yet!!!

These are very good - and for winter rides on the bike. I got them for about £60 from Evans.

I have a pair of Merrel running shorts, that I wear over lycra shorts, that are snug rather than baggy. I really like them.
My Salomons are also much more snug than my 'proper' mtb shorts.

Swrve make some decent urban / commuter fitted shorts made out of cotton with a few % lycra for stretch. Well made stuff, well designed and long lasting.

Haglöfs Lizard shorts - brilliant, use them for just this on the cross bike. Lurk around eBay until you find some at a half-decent price though, they're somewhat pricey at RRP.
