So I haven't been out on my bike except to commute or coach rowing for well over a year... Today, I went to Thetford and took the main time-stealing culprit - the dog. It was his first time running with the bike and he excelled himself...

I really don't know which one of us enjoyed it more - he was desperate to get going every time we stopped and didn't even seem tired when we finished up...

I'd got in a real rut of my bike needing a bit of maintenance, feeling like it's all too much effort to get sorted, and not having the time to set aside a few hours to get out. After today - I can safely say that rut is behind me...

It's good that you got out and had fun, s'always good is that. But what the chuff have you been putting off maintaining for a year on a V-braked singlespeed?
