Has anyone any experience of first aid courses that they would recommend? (eg. St Johns. The Red Cross).
Thanks.

Where are you and for what purpose? I did a two day outdoor course with Rik Cotgreave in the Peak district that was excellent. Need to renew this summer. Just not sure if it meets your needs.

2nd an outdoor specific one.

I did one with Phil Quill at Calshot many years ago. Phil is a bit of an outdoor pursuits legends (inc MTB) and runs a means course. Mostly retired now but I think he is still running some stuff.

South England. Thinking along the lines of a half day one for starters.

You would only learn very basic, generic stuff in half a day, applicable to any situation you may find yourself in and not outdoor or sport focussed. Get in touch with local St John's or Red Cross and see what they offer.

Still worth doing though.
